       Subsistence Syndrome

"Subsistence Syndrome" is a psychosomatic disorder found in professional musicians. It affects them most severely when they are on holiday abroad and manifests itself  in an uncontrollable urge to spend the day's subsistence, even though they haven't been given any and are spending their own money.
In severe cases it can result in a musician on  a self catering holiday with their family spending more in bars and restaurants than the rest of the cost of the holiday, including flights.
There is, as yet, no known cure.
