This
is the legendary Ticket Barrier
where
the amazing bell modification first occurred.
As I was returning
from a Trans-Atlantic flight with free bar, my
instrument, in a cheap gig-bag, accidentally fell just on the other
side of the barrier to the left of the picture, slipping from my
shoulder as I attempted to wheel a bullky case through the gap.
When I got home, I
tried the instrument to see if it still played O.K..
The rest, as
they say, is history.
The
"Horn Reborn" by day
Spooky
It was only later
that local hand-horn supremo Batchwood Brenchley
pointed out to me that the barrier in question is situated less than
100 yards from a public house called "The Horn Reborn".
What are the
chances of that being just a coincidence?
